Dezi is also a voice coach. She has had a successful school for the past 14 years teaching singing, microphone technique, styling and percussion. She also teaches stage craft and helps her students to become all-rounders if they intend going into the music industry. She has coached many of the theatrical performers currently working in the industry and also teaches at Reddam House, a private school in Tokai, where she has been employed for the past six years.
 

Techniques

Dezi says: "The techniques I teach are based on tried and tested methods that are currently being used by some top international performers i.e. Madonna, Michael Jackson, Sting, George Michael, etc...  Many of the excercises are similar to those in "Speech Level Singing", but I use other excercises that I have devised."

 

Some Pointers

"Breathing is also an integral part of singing.  I have been a professional singer myself for many years, so I understand how important stage craft is.  I know that good microphone technique can make or break a performance.  Where you stand, how you stand, your eye movements, your hand movements...  DICTION!!!!  The audience being able to hear every word of the lyric is also of huge importance."
